Our Facilities
Architectural glazing supported by fabrication
Facilities & Operations
Littlehampton Architectural Glassworks operates from facilities on the South Coast of England. Through the wider capabilities of Littlehampton Welding Limited, projects benefit from access to fabrication, lifting and logistical support where required.
From glass procurement and frame fabrication, through to preparation for installation, glazing systems are coordinated, inspected and managed in house, allowing control across project delivery, logistics and site readiness prior to installation.
HOW WE WORK
Fabrication Support
Many architectural glazing projects require bespoke framing systems, supporting structures and associated architectural metalwork.
Through Littlehampton Welding’s fabrication facilities, glazing systems can be coordinated alongside supporting steelwork, ensuring fabrication, procurement and installation requirements are considered as part of a single project scope.
Lifting and Handling
The facility benefits from full overhead crane coverage, including tandem lifting capacity of up to 18.9 tonnes, enabling the safe handling of large and heavy glass and steel components within the workshop and yard.
Extended roof height and lifting provision support large scale fabrication, trial assembly and preparation for transport prior to installation.
Surface Preparation
Surface preparation is undertaken within the LWL in house paint and finishing facility.
Shot blasting systems, including a large blast room, are used to prepare steelwork to the required standard prior to coating. Finishes are applied in accordance with project and environmental specifications.
IN HOUSE CONTROL
Fabrication, surface preparation and finishing operations are undertaken within the same facility.
Workshop, preparation and coating activities are sequenced internally, allowing assemblies to progress through fabrication, inspection and surface treatment within a single controlled environment.
Material certification, weld traceability and inspection procedures are maintained throughout each stage of manufacture.
Completed components are inspected, protected and prepared for dispatch in accordance with project specification and programme requirements.
Finishing & ASSEMBLY
Coating & Finishing
Finishing processes include thermal metal spraying using zinc, copper and brass, wet spraying, electrostatic spraying and intumescent coatings.
Specialist finishes including blackening, patination and polishing of stainless steel, aluminium and brass are undertaken where specified.
Surface treatment operations are completed within the facility prior to dispatch.
Trial Erection & Dispatch
Trial erection is undertaken to verify geometry, tolerances and connection accuracy prior to delivery.
Assemblies are sequenced and prepared for transport in coordination with installation planning.
Fabricated components are managed within the workshop and yard areas prior to dispatch.
