ABOUT LGW
Operational structure and compliance
How we operate
Littlehampton Architectural Glassworks operates as part of Littlehampton Welding Limited, combining architectural glazing expertise with the fabrication, lifting and installation capabilities of the wider business.
Architectural glazing packages, supporting structures and associated architectural metalwork can be delivered within a single coordinated scope. Design information is reviewed prior to manufacture and installation to address interface requirements, fixing strategies, tolerances and installation methodology.
Coordination is maintained throughout technical development, procurement and site installation to support efficient project delivery.
Operational Structure
Technical Coordination
The in house design team at Littlehampton Welding supports projects from early concept through to technical detailing and installation coordination.
BIM integration and 3D modelling are used to coordinate glazing systems, supporting structures and interfaces with the wider building fabric. Engineering input is provided where required to review fixing strategies, tolerances and installation methodology.
Pre construction services agreements may be undertaken to support buildability, coordination and logistical planning prior to installation.
Quality & Compliance
Littlehampton Architectural Glassworks delivers projects in accordance with applicable industry standards, specifications and project requirements.
Technical documentation, product certification and compliance information are coordinated throughout design development, procurement and installation. Where supporting steelwork is incorporated within a project, fabrication is undertaken by Littlehampton Welding Limited in accordance with relevant industry standards and project specifications.
Quality control procedures are maintained throughout delivery to support commercial, residential and public realm projects across a range of sectors.
Installation Planning
Installation is delivered by experienced teams supported by in house project managers.
Site activities are planned in advance to coordinate access requirements, lifting operations, installation sequencing and programme constraints. Method statements, risk assessments and logistical planning are developed to suit the specific requirements of each project.
Coordination may include specialist lifting equipment, crane operations, access platforms, transport planning and installation within occupied, constrained or live environments. International transport and overseas installation can be undertaken where required.
Sector Experience
Delivery of architectural glazing systems within transport, civic and large scale development environments. Works may include structural glazing, glazed balustrades, canopies and bespoke glazing packages requiring coordinated installation and access planning.
Architectural glazing systems delivered within office, retail and mixed use developments. Coordination undertaken with architects, consultants, design teams and main contractors throughout project stages.
Supply and installation of glazing systems within open public environments, including pavilions, visitor facilities and external architectural features. Installation planning addresses access, public interface and operational constraints.
Delivery of glazing systems for architect led, artist led and cultural projects requiring close coordination, specialist detailing and controlled installation methodologies.
Design coordination, fabrication support and installation planning undertaken in the UK for projects requiring export and overseas delivery. Logistics, lifting strategy and transport sequencing are developed to suit project specific site and regulatory requirements.
Health, Safety & Environmental Control
Health & Safety
Health and safety procedures are implemented across workshop and site operations. Risk assessments and method statements are developed prior to fabrication and installation activities.
Lifting operations are planned and supervised by qualified personnel. Lift plans are prepared in accordance with statutory requirements and principal contractor obligations.
